As per usual, Cinemambiente has avoided 500 tonnes of CO2 thanks to CleanPlanet-CO2; by doing so Cineambiente helps to reduce the emissions produced from the energetic consumption of Cinema Massimo, nonetheless the emissions produced by the transfers of the competing authors and the viewers.
World Environment Day is one of the tools the UN uses to spread awareness on global scale environmental issues thus drawing the attention of policymakers and fostering action. It is celebrated on the 5th of June every year to pay tribute to the date of opening of the United Nations Conference on Human Environment held in Stockholm, launching the first United Nations Environment Programme – UNEP.

Asja will host almost 300 of them, that it will entertain with playful learning workshops on the use and potential of renewable energy for everyday applications.

The 5° of June the world will celebrated the W.E.D. World Enviroment Day, an initiative by the UN to actively involve people and institutions in the discussion about environmental issues. Asja will contribute to spread awareness among the general public concerning energy saving and a better use of renewable energy sources, by taking part in the event organized by the A Come Ambiente Environmental Museum in Turin. Asja will have a small stand at the Dora Shopping Park, that will be visited by up to 2.500 students of all age and grade levels on the 3rd of June from 9AM to 5 PM. Asja will welcome more than 300 of them to its educational workshops with special focus on the usage and potentials of renewables in everyday life.
Today the 13th edition of the Festival Internazionale Cinemambiente is officially opened. The environmental film festival will take place in Spring to celebrate through cinema the World Environment Day (5th June 2010). For the sixth year in a row, Asja has allocated to Cinemambiente 10,000 euros , 5,000 of which will be awarded to the best documentary in the contest thus providing support to the Festival in spreading a proper environmental culture. As usual, the Cinemambiente Organizers have also offset 500 tons of CO2 through the CleanPlanet-CO2 system, thus contibuting to reducing the emissions arising from power consumption at the Cinema Massimo, as well as from filmmakers and audience traveling to and from the Festival venues.
